Web Director

Cambridge, MA

Harmonix is looking for a stellar individual with a strong history of performance in online marketing and community building. Individual must possess balance of strategic vision with ability to work effectively in a hands-on role in a team oriented environment. Web project management experience required, experience with casual games and online communities highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

Define and adjust Harmonix's web marketing and community strategy in collaboration with product development and management team.

Lead and manage multi-organization team consisting of Harmonix/Viacom staff, publishing partners and service providers.

Evaluate, select & manage relationships with agencies & other 3rd parties.

Establish and manage requirements, milestone plans, schedules and budgets for multiple online initiatives.

Conduct ongoing analysis of website traffic & engagement trends, efficacy of marketing programs and other key metrics including actionable insights for improving user experience.

Collaborate extensively with product & community teams to create a robust managed online community.

Collaborate with advertising sales team to develop effective sales materials & support efforts to establish 3rd party co-promotional & sponsorship partnerships.

Manage usability and other market research initiatives to create new online offerings.

Develop the appropriate resources (internal hires and external partners) to deliver on strategy.

Communicate project status to internal and external stakeholders.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Five plus years experience in web project management with proven track record of oversight of multiple projects and priorities (experience in media/interactive industry strongly preferred)

Demonstrated experience developing complex sites featuring dynamic interaction, rich content, embedded forms, audio, video, and script objects.

Experience implementing RSS feeds, blogs, wikis, and other emerging user community-building techniques.

Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of web design, web production, site architecture, content management and a solid understanding of how web technologies can be used to effectively build online communities and support marketing activities.

Experience managing online media traffic, ad campaigns and ad partnerships; traffic reporting and campaign analysis, maintaining comparisons against key competitors/comparables and industry-wide trend analysis.

  • Positive attitude with ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment.
  • Position reports to Director of Product Development.
  • Love of music and musical performance a plus.
